Ed Sheeran’s Perfect Song Meaning and Emotions

Ed Sheeran (Edward Christopher Sheeran) was born on 17 February 1991 in England. Music has always been his everyday companion. And one of his “friends” is the ‘Perfect’ song. But how perfect is it?

Ed Sheeran is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He started singing in a local church. When he was 18 years old, he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford.

‘Perfect’ is one of his most popular songs, a pop love song about the dream everyone has: meeting real love and making it last for a lifetime.

Do you feel related somehow? Who has never dreamt of finding the most charming partner on earth who would become the perfect life companion?

About the Lyrics and Music

The text doesn’t have a strict poetic structure, nor a lot of rhymes, but its meaning, the story and world behind it is emotional and inspiring.

With regards to the music, like in any pop song, we don’t have a lot of variations here, but that’s why this song can be so memorable and easy listening. Imagine you want to dance to it. It would be a mess if it changes continuously.

The singer’s voice is pretty good and warm, making listening quite enjoyable. Have you ever found yourself listening to the same song sung by different singers and realizing that it may drastically change?

A different performance and voice can change everything: sound, timber, feelings, emotions, involvement, and entertainment. And a song can sound amazing with one singer, while horrible or boring sung by another one.

We are here today to talk about entertainment, the good one, and the overall entertaining effect. Therefore we don’t “waste” your time being too technical and complicated: we are here to have some fun and not to attend a course. So enjoy it.

My Thoughts About Ed Sheeran’s Perfect Song

This is a pop song, it’s meant to be memorable and appreciated by anyone (the more the better). Therefore, the structure is quite simple, but the overall effect is amazing, entertaining and “perfect” to become viral.

“Simple” doesn’t necessarily mean poor and awful if you are so talented to make it sound enjoyable while easy. It would get even more points with a more dynamic harmony behind it, but we are not in an opera festival.

And what band always bring with them a whole orchestra?

If a song can sound good even played with just a guitar, it means the work behind it is already pretty good. From my point of view, it can become even better, but it’s still entertaining. So, keep going with the nice work Ed.

What do you think? Do you like Ed Sheeran? Which song is the best? What about the lyrics?
